Podcast #15 - They're Never Taking Me Down

So, I have this dream that I'll have a band that just likes to try silly songs with me. This would be one of those songs. The prompt was "plastic monsters". The picture in my head is a whole stop motion animation thing with plastic monsters chasing after a Lego Laura Marie. It's sort of a fun way of looking at how I sometime's feel like the world is against me, how I come out fighting and how, yes, I have control issues. The bridge is my favorite part. Hope you enjoy it. RAWR!!!!

They’re Never Taking Me Down

Sometimes I feel like a child’s battered toy
Manipulated and arranged in their employ
To be surrounded by the plastic monsters
The world awaiting my eventual conquer

It might be wildly entertaining to pretend
That someone’s coming to the rescue in the end
But in the meantime I won’t sit and wonder
I won’t be eaten by the plastic monsters
Oh, oh, oh, they’re never taking me down
Oh, oh, oh, they’re never taking me down

Do you remember how I took up arms and then
I tore right through the castle walls to your defense
While all the battlements were torn asunder
You think I’d sit here in the siege I’m under

I’m not some token in a giant child’s game
I have my limits and I’m slowly taking aim
Hair trigger reflex with a rocket launcher
I have no patience for the plastic monsters
Oh, oh, oh, they’re never taking me down
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh

I, I never wanted to fight
I only wanted to be the one
Controlling every thing all the time
But, I, I’d never leave you behind
It’s you and me against the lunacy
If only in my childish mind

Where are the parents when you need them anyway
Are we supposed to be the parents, did you say?
I’m not a grown up, just a good impostor
But never losing to some plastic monsters

Oh, oh, oh, they’re never taking me down
Oh, oh, oh, they’re never taking me down
Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh
